Marbella Luxury Villa

When the clients invited us back to their Spanish villa, first designed over sixteen years ago, it felt both a privilege and a responsibility to guide the next phase of its life. The house had hosted many summers and held deep emotional significance, yet it was clear that while the architectural framework remained sound, the interiors belonged to an earlier chapter. Colours varied from room to room, spaces felt stylistically disconnected, and many finishes had been inherited when the villa was originally built and therefore retained during our initial involvement.

Over time, the clients’ tastes evolved, their family grew, and the villa shifted from a holiday retreat to a primary residence. The brief centred on renewal: to adapt the house for everyday living while preserving its character, familiarity and Mediterranean spirit. Practical challenges prompted the first interventions. Outdated drainage systems brought the bathrooms into focus, expanding the scope from two rooms to seven. Flooring throughout the
house required a complete rethink, and a number of inherited elements were carefully reassessed rather than replaced wholesale. Throughout the process, the clients’ attachment to the villa’s architecture and the memories embedded within it remained central.

Our response was one of considered refinement. A cohesive visual language now connects the interiors, introducing soft tones, tactile materials and a calmer, more unified palette, while allowing each space to retain its own identity. Completed within a year, the renovation enables the villa to move confidently into its next chapter, familiar yet thoughtfully transformed, and fully equipped to support daily life for years to come.
