Adeeni Design Group has brought new life to a historic 60 acre ranch in Pope Valley, crafting a retreat that seamlessly blends the spirit of the land with modern design. For the Bay Area family who owns the property, this project represents a deeply personal connection to the region’s layered history and its legacy of nineteenth century ranching. The family had long admired the area’s rugged beauty, and when they purchased a parcel of land previously owned by a retired Hollywood set designer, their vision for a gentleman’s ranch began to take shape.

The architecture reimagines the notion of building within the ruins of an old stone structure, using dark grey stone from the family’s own quarry. Thick walls, a long cupola, and blackened steel framing evoke both rugged history and contemporary craft. Inside, In collaboration with George Bevan, Juestel introduced dramatic contrasts: blackened steel beams, charcoal concrete floors, pale plaster walls, oak ceilings, and expansive steel-and-glass doors that open the great room to sweeping views.

Custom furnishings, tribal inspired textiles, and handcrafted materials tie the interiors to the land’s heritage while maintaining a sophisticated, modern aesthetic. Through thoughtful detail and a deep respect for place, Adeeni Design Group has created a retreat that feels both timeless and profoundly personal.
