Aflux Designs

Aflux Designs has completed the transformation of a Primrose Hill terrace house, creating a calm and characterful family home defined by soft curves, bespoke joinery and layered textures. The full renovation, which included a rear extension, reimagined what was once a narrow and enclosed property into a refined yet highly liveable space designed for modern family life.

The original house featured high ceilings and hard concrete walls that left the interiors feeling restrictive and lacking warmth. Aflux Designs approached the project with the aim of introducing flow, softness and personality while maintaining a sense of understated luxury. The result is a carefully balanced living environment where elegant detailing and practical functionality work seamlessly together.

Central to the design is the bespoke arched joinery, designed and built by Aflux Designs to soften the architecture and add rhythm to the long, linear living space. The joinery creates display areas for artwork and objects while introducing a crafted architectural quality that anchors the room. Paired with textured plaster finishes by Crystal Decor, the walls take on a warm and tactile character that contrasts with the original concrete structure.

Aflux Designs layered the interiors with warm neutral tones, natural timber flooring and soft upholstery to create a welcoming atmosphere. Carefully considered accents, including burnt orange velvet chairs, patterned cushions, aged brass detailing and a sculptural statement chandelier, introduce richness and personality without overwhelming the calm palette.

Movement through the ground floor was also a key focus of the redesign. The eye is drawn naturally from the curved sofa and arched shelving through the living area and kitchen towards the garden beyond. Each zone retains its own function while remaining visually connected, allowing the spaces to work together as a cohesive sequence.

Aflux Designs said the project succeeds because every detail serves a purpose, balancing structure, softness and character to create a home that feels luxurious, relaxed and deeply connected to the creative atmosphere of Primrose Hill itself.
