Classically Designed Property
by Amy Hunt Interior Design

Amy Hunt Interior Design has transformed a formal living area within a classically designed family home in Cobham, Surrey, creating a refined and characterful space that balances classical detailing with contemporary touches. The clients had moved from a Victorian townhouse in London and wanted to bring the warmth and individuality of their previous home into their five year old new build.

The generous living room had impressive proportions but initially lacked warmth and personality. Amy Hunt Interior Design was tasked with creating an inviting setting that would feel sophisticated enough for entertaining while remaining comfortable for everyday family life. Central to the scheme were the clients’ treasured heirloom Persian rugs, whose rich colours, intricate patterns and heritage provided the foundation for the wider design.

Layered lighting, warm toned chairs and carefully considered pops of colour add further depth and personality. Amy Hunt Interior Design deliberately avoided an overly coordinated aesthetic, instead layering old and new, colour and pattern, texture and form to create an interior that feels collected over time.

The finished room respects the grandeur of the property while introducing warmth, individuality and contemporary comfort, creating a space that feels established, personal and naturally connected to its Surrey setting.
