Beth Donner Design created Seven Beach Lane as a boutique hospitality destination that carefully balances the charm of historic Hamptons architecture with the sophistication of contemporary coastal living. The studio’s vision was to create an intimate retreat that feels welcoming, elevated and residential, rather than traditionally commercial, while respecting the property’s original character.

The design combines restored historic architecture with contemporary additions, creating a seamless relationship between heritage and modernity. Natural materials including warm oak, walnut, textured stone, handcrafted tile and rich leather establish a layered, tactile environment inspired by the relaxed elegance of the Hamptons. Soft neutral tones are complemented by muted sage greens, black accents and warm brass detailing, resulting in interiors that feel calm, refined and cohesive.

Beth Donner Design placed significant emphasis on custom millwork, integrated furniture, sculptural lighting and carefully curated artwork to reinforce the hotel’s distinctive boutique identity. Guest rooms were conceived as serene, restorative spaces with layered textures, soft lighting and bespoke details that evoke the comfort of a private residence. Lounge and bar areas encourage relaxation and connection while maintaining a sophisticated hospitality experience.

The project responds thoughtfully to the character of Westhampton through a restrained material palette and architectural language inspired by the shoreline, dunes and natural light, rather than literal coastal references. Skilled artisans played a vital role in delivering the vision, particularly through custom wood slat ceilings and walls, bespoke vanities, precision stone and tile installations, specialty finishes, custom upholstery and commissioned gallery artwork. The result is a timeless yet contemporary retreat that celebrates craftsmanship, authenticity and modern coastal living.
