While the property offered abundant natural light and scale, Birch House introduced depth and character through meticulous detailing, decorative mouldings and a carefully orchestrated palette of materials. A restrained tonal approach underpins the design, with limewash finishes in transitional areas and fabric wallcoverings in more intimate spaces, all unified through bespoke joinery that enhances both functionality and visual continuity.
Longevity was central to the scheme, with Birch House selecting materials for their durability as well as their aesthetic contribution. Thoughtful layering of texture, proportion and light creates a sense of calm and refinement, allowing each element to contribute to a balanced and resolved composition. The result is a home that transcends its new build origins, offering a timeless environment designed to evolve with its occupants.
The layout has been carefully planned to support both everyday living and entertaining. In the open plan kitchen and dining area, limestone flooring is paired with shaker cabinetry and a quartzite worktop accented with antique brass. The adjoining family room features a bespoke media unit and soft lighting, creating a relaxed yet elegant setting.
A more dramatic tone is introduced in the bar and games room, where rich materials and a bespoke bar create a sociable atmosphere. In contrast, the drawing room emanates an air of formality with the walls adorned in Fromental’s bucolic wallcovering set within period-inspired panelling. The luxurious experience extends outdoors, where a beautifully landscaped garden, an idyllic pergola with a firepit and outdoor kitchen complete the scheme, reinforcing Birch House’s vision of a home designed for connection, comfort and lasting sophistication.
