Curiosity’s design of the public spaces, restaurants, and spa of the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair London, which opened in June 2024, reflects a refined synthesis of Mayfair’s urban elegance and the natural tranquility of Hanover Square’s gardens. This sophisticated concept, titled “a hub of nature and art,” shapes a seamless connection to the surrounding area. Signature design elements, like the green stone reception, the iconic staircase, and carefully placed sculptural forms, embody the energy and elegance of the neighbourhood while integrating contemporary sophistication.

Throughout the hotel, nature’s elements are expressed through artistic forms. In the atrium, a vortex wood sculpture representing wind hangs over the dining area, creating an environment that varies from every point of view. A fabric light installation designed as a waterfall falls over the sushi counter, while the theme of fire comes alive in the bar, where a concealed bronze metallic ceiling is revealed at night, adding dramatic allure. The spa, with its “walk in the park” theme, combines dark wood and stone with warm bronze lighting, inviting guests to relax and reconnect with nature.
Curiosity’s thoughtful integration of modern and traditional influences enriches the cultural spirit of Mayfair. The design not only complements Mayfair’s historical and artistic heritage but also brings forward a vision of luxury inspiration. In every detail, Curiosity has crafted an environment that resonates with locals and visitors alike, contributing to the future of London’s hospitality by honouring its roots and celebrating contemporary artistry.
