Architect: Thorp Design

Meon Building Contractors Ltd were commissioned to renovate Norland Square, a grade-two listed building into a practical family home whilst maintaining a contemporary design. The designers were requested to demolish the back of the house at the ground floor and lower ground levels whilst creating an additional glass box to maximize light and create a bespoke living space.

All bedrooms and bathrooms were completely renovated, adding maximal storage space in the bedrooms and a modern and clean finish to the bathrooms. The staircase required strengthening and finishing to tie in with the interior design. A master dressing room was added onto the rear of the property with a roof light to allow natural light to cascade in. The garden was remodelled to include a water feature, built in planters, and a seating and built in BBQ area. The garden holds an existing listed tree so it was paramount that the designers maintained this feature.

The designer’s favourite feature was said to be the glass extension at the lower levels, allowing natural light. This stunning London home contains a mix of modern and traditional features making it comfortable for the client whilst still maintaining a contemporary style. The glass link enables you to enjoy the outside while indoors.
