OLALA Interiors was approached by the gregarious, humble couple in late 2017 who wanted to build their dream home for themselves and their two teenage children. They had been patiently awaiting the right time for this project and wanted it to be understatedly elegant but still comfortable and homely.

A place that they could retire to after a busy day to relax and unwind. The property is built over a double plot, the home is just shy of 1500 square metres and boasts three swimming pools and seven bedrooms. The clients have a large extended family who like to visit them and so each bedroom had to have its own personality. The large double volume space and the two circular staircases make for a memorable entrance. The use of six Supernova pendant lights and a beautiful teak root table topped with a cool grey bevelled glass makes a dramatic statement and welcome visitors to this magnificent home.

The kitchen is the heart of the home. With a grandiose central island and numerous hobs with downdraft extraction units, it is a chef’s dream. The breath-taking views while at the cook’s post is accentuated by the swimming pool and fire pit beyond, whilst the striking pendant lights add to the glamour. There is a lovely flow to the kitchen with everything you need in close reach. There are also integrated fridge and freezers in the show kitchen and a larger fridge in the scullery for when they entertain.

The laundry and scullery are efficiently and beautifully laid out. The soft colours and the warmth of the timber make the house blend into the backdrop and lends it a humble look even though it has incredible size. Skilled cabinetry, stone and metal artisans assisted in making this project a reality.
