Project Name: St. John’s Wood

Location: St. John’s Wood, London

Date Completed: July 2019

Interior Designer: Susan White of IGGI Interior Design

Architect: Peter Leonard & Co

The clients for this project are a young family with a large art collection and a busy lifestyle with a lot of entertaining at home. With the addition of a second level, their home is now a duplex penthouse in London. This project was started by Architects, Peter Leonard & Co and IGGI joined the project in the last stages.

The brief was to create a glamorous family home that could accommodate the large art collection as well as host up to 80 people for events.

The upper level of the penthouse was to be used for more formal occasions, the main living room, dining room are located here. These flexible entertainment spaces needed to be designed to ensure that there was a lot of seating and space to move about. The large dining room table which is usually set up as two single tables, can join and extend to accommodation 36 people for a formal dinner.

IGGI Interior Design ensured that both upper and lower levels were suited to their uses. Making the most of the artwork on display by ensuring that the soft furnishings, wall coverings and lighting enhanced rather than detracted from the art collection.

On the lower level, a lot of colour was introduced which toned down the formality, particularly in the family room and playroom.
