A contemporary and sophisticated luxury master suite renovation in the stunning seaside location of Bayview on Sydney’s Pittwater.

The brief was to deliver a master bedroom and ensuite that were worthy of a luxury hotel. The client spends a lot of time traveling and residing in some of the most exclusive hotels around the world and wished to create a comparable space that he could call his own. In order to create the luxurious, contemporary master suite that the client desired, the space needed to be redefined and expanded; the existing walk-in-wardrobe and ensuite were gutted and combined to create a spacious area for the new master ensuite, while the adjoining study was widened and enclosed to create a much more spacious walk-in-robe.

In the bedroom, a favourite aspect is the way colour has been used tonally and layered with textures and warmth in everything from the automated drapes and sheers to the bedlinen and silk wallpaper to the artwork on the floor, the rug.

The inspired master suite has a cohesive narrative and flow. These have been achieved by the considered space planning and functionality which were essential for the success of the design, adding to the exceptional result. All of the design elements have combined to create harmony and a sense of well-being. The masculine palette is balanced by the curves and sumptuous textures of the soft furnishings, resulting in an overall refined contemporary aesthetic.

A water-front property in a seaside location called for a luxurious remodelling. The designers steered away from traditional beach style or a Hamptons-inspired renovation and instead took cues from 6-star hotels of the world. They remained cognisant that the final result had to fit in the relaxed Australian lifestyle but provide a sophisticated landing pad for their well-travelled client, who appreciates luxury and life’s finer things.
