With a facade featuring a contemporary brown-toned brick, corten steel accents and expansive walls of windows, Hampton 899 is full of the unexpected. The front facade of this home beautifully blends into the style of the neighbourhood, though the modern cubes of glass and corten steel on the sides and back of the home creates a surprising element and an insight into the modern spin that Ancerl Studio has put on the interiors of this otherwise traditional structure.

Featuring an open layout and soaring double and triple-height open volumes, the property shines as an impressive entertainment space while remaining a comfortable family home. Ancerl Studio’s open spatial planning allows this home to be both practical and welcoming; the expansive walls of windows and the unique layout are key elements of the design for a liveable and bright family home, also reflected in the colour tones of the interiors. Choosing to keep the interiors quiet and subdued meant that Ancerl Studio allowed the views to the outdoors to shine, and for nature remain the main focus of the home.

Ancerl Studio’s unobtrusive design elements run throughout the home, while still offering a sophisticated foundation. The oversized and dramatic bespoke light fixtures are jaw dropping in appearance, and though large in scale, remain light and airy, keeping the space as a whole feeling open and calm.  A dramatic stone accent in the kitchen offers a wow factor though remaining in touch with the minimal colour scheme, and space is once again maximised as function rules with a generous hidden pantry off the main kitchen.

Looking through the front window of the home, viewers are surprised to see through four walls of glass straight into the private courtyard and backyard. Just steps from the shoreline of Lake Ontario, Hampton 899 is a new build home, designed with a nod to traditional in concept, and modern-contemporary in execution.
