Project Name: Industrial-chic innovation

Location: Hampshire

Date Completed: September 2019

Construction Company: Coleman LLP

The design brief entailed creating a welcoming and comfortable aesthetic for a 5,300sq ft luxurious newly built home in North Hampshire, whilst ensuring that the property wouldn’t have the feel of a new build and would seamlessly embed itself into the local surroundings.

The interiors were crafted to sympathetically reflect the brief with all of the flooring, decoration and soft furnishings designed and individually selected for the clients in a project that spanned the course of 2 years in total.

The key element to this impressive family home as per the design brief was the focus on comfort levels throughout, whilst still reflecting the client’s personality. Introducing industrial finishes such as smoked bronze ironmongery, exposed brickwork and custom-made herringbone timber doors, alongside luxurious furnishings to soften the palette allowed us to create the lived in, comfortable yet luxurious feel that the client aspired to.

Working alongside the building contractors, the exposed brickwork was carefully selected to offer a warm tone and compliment the smoked oak, herringbone timber flooring. The custom designed internal doors incorporate timber and ironmongery with aged finishes to re-enforce the industrial aesthetic; whilst two pairs of metal, glazed doors lead through from the Entrance Hall to the open plan Kitchen/Dining space, allowing reflections from the lighting to bounce on the glass panels and for borrowed light to flood into this wonderful space.

Plush upholstery velvets and fabric backed wallcoverings with woven silk metallic details feed into the comfortable industrial aesthetic and compliment the harder finishes perfectly. The bathroom brassware was chosen with exposed pipework and custom-made, metal-framed shower screens to reflect the industrial-chic aesthetic running throughout the property.

The property also boasts an impressive seven fireplaces, each of which were meticulously designed alongside the fireplace suppliers and building contractors to ensure that they were individually impressive in their own right.

The impressive, triple-sided Entrance Hall fireplace sits on a Marron marble plinth with a grand 7.5 meter, polished plaster chimneybreast extending up to the pitched ceiling on the First Floor Landing. The Black Stucco plaster is highly reflective so doesn’t feel imposing or overpowering in this space.

The project’s exterior aesthetic was influenced by nearby historical buildings, which fed into the interior architecture and design of the property. There is an ultimate sense of unique design throughout that reflects our client’s personality and project brief.
