As the foundation of an interior, all white can appear fresh, and make a positive impression no matter what. But to make it interesting requires a combination of added details and playing with sizes, shapes, and textures.

After 15 years in their home, the homeowners decided to build a new house instead of remodelling. They wanted to start from scratch, not bringing anything with them from their previous house. During the interview process, it was never a doubt that they were looking for an elegant transitional style with only white for colour. An all-white interior can be easy to design, appear fresh and make a positive impression no matter what, but it is the combination of the added textures that will help make it interesting, warm and inviting.

For Katalin Farnady, of Farnady Interiors, the secret of keeping an all-white neutral interior interesting is paying close attention to details both architecturally and decoratively. Katalin played with different sizes, shapes and textures, as well as added different materials and finishes to keep each room unique. Throughout the sixteen months of build out, she was able to alter and manipulate every space to its best and fullest function, purpose, and beauty. Ultimately, plenty of added interest made this all-white interior one-of-a-kind.

A key design feature of the property is the piano room, which is an entertaining derision from the rest of the house, with the face sculptures adding a touch of whimsy and fun to the room. This design works well because the team were able to give the family, with children and dog, an all-white interior with using performance fabrics as well as outdoor fabrics indoor that feels as soft as any interior fabric.
