Interior Designer: Interiors With Art

A stunning classic contemporary home with a blend of mid-century antiques spanning over 11,000 square feet with a beautiful glass extension overlooking the garden. The brief for Interiors With Art was to create a spacious, warm and welcoming home that was both suitable for formal entertainment and intimate gatherings. The space needed to not be intimidating, it had to be comfortable for a family to spend time together and for their children to play.

The clients wanted the interior style to be classic contemporary but at the same time to be in keeping with the mid-century architectural style of the building. For the client, the use of nature and maximising light was crucial. From every corner, they wanted to see greenery and not feel as though they were in the heart of London. By utilising the dead space to the side of the house as a glass extension, Interiors With Art were able to create a morning room which both provided a lovely informal entertainment area but at the same is a perfect sense of bringing the outdoor inside.

The house was previously very dark with lots of small bedrooms. Interiors With Art instructed to create 7 ‘good sized’ bedrooms, all overlooking the garden or a private balcony and a separate master suite for the client as the perfect tranquil refuge. There were certain key aspects of this project that really helped it come together such as the use of natural fibres and textiles which add to the comfortable luxury style and warmth that the interiors evoke.

Through the glass extension and the light maximisation throughout the property, there is a smooth transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, with greenery visible from all bedrooms. Interiors With Art were able to implement a seamless blend of contemporary and traditional with both the existing architecture of the building and the design.
