Designed for a busy young family in Toronto, the Contemporary Home kitchen is a clean and contemporary space. Cazan Design Group’s articulated design introduced a great function and flow, with a fresh, out of the box approach to the way the space is used.

The design brief was to bring perfect harmony between the space. Using artisan skills to coordinate all detailing including electrical, trim carpentry, cabinetry, custom metal working and plaster crown molding created communication between elements. Cazan Design Group continued this harmony with consistent finishes and colours throughout the house. In doing so, the kitchen integrates within the residence and has a friendly, familiar ambience. The designer’s use of traditionally cold elements and tones give the space a unique and modern look, with the layers providing warmth.

The eating area in the kitchen is connected and well-integrated around the preparation area for a better function and flow. The grouping of these elements creates harmony and flow between the rest of the elements without overcrowding the spaces or blocking the direct access to the patio door or Family Room. It is this ease of movement which makes Cazan Design Group’s concept work so well. A large amount of appliances have been concealed with bespoke cabinetry, and the custom range hood has been designed in perfect harmony with this. The ceiling design accentuates the seating and island area, adding depth and warmth to the overall space.

This kitchen space is unique and sophisticated, yet friendly. With a contemporary approach to the design, Cazan Design Group has achieved a functional and welcoming space that is homogenous with the family home.
