Date Completed: 2019

The House 70ties, located in Cote D’Azur French Riviera, was a completely new design concept created by D&K Interiors Studio. The property is a modern take on a 70’s house featuring all bespoke furnishings.

D&K Interiors Studio describe the project as a dream to work on, the kind of dream project that can only happen when the clients’ appetite in colour and design matches their own. The design brief of a full design concept of a modern 70’s style family home, came only with one demand. No black. The house needed to be light, modern, and functional. A wooden parquet floor was laid throughout connecting all the rooms. All fixed furniture in bathrooms and rugs were made bespoke by D&K Interiors Studio. Mondrian inspired bookshelves, metal doors and door handle designs were drawn up by hand in the studio – and once crafted, brought to life on site.

Polished concrete tiles used in the bathrooms provided a modern touch and geometric and floral tiles in soft pastels were a perfect fit for the kitchen. Modern 70’s style furniture sourced in walnut, artworks and fabrics in sunny warm tones were all carefully chosen for their authentic retro aesthetic. In the main living room (and to the delight of the clients), the team had fun in creating a 70’s style sunken seating area. The natural heart of the home.

The vibrant colours and prominent 70’s style were the key design aspects of the project and is what allows the property to flow. The project as a whole works so well because of the eclectic mix of great inspiration and the exclusive choices made throughout.
