House Waterstone by Kim H.Nieu Interior Design is an eclectic space, one which is striking yet inviting and radiates comfort. It is a multi-level home in Sandton that, as with all of their projects, has been designed with a focus on their client’s needs and personality. Welcoming each bespoke brief to design a home which suits the client this multi-level Sandton home embraces the family’s love of art; the interior design is vibrant, filled with life and personality without overwhelming the space.

The clients wanted their home to be warm and inviting, but not lack interest or originality. They wanted a home which was flexible in it’s ability to cater for their family, with spaces suitable for smaller family living and also an allowance for extensive entertainment options. As a family of art lovers it was also very important that Kim H.Nieu Interior Design created a home that showcased their extensive art collection.

This is a design that truly speaks to the client’s personality and it is this relationship between client and space which makes the design work well. The use of colour throughout the space became one of the designer’s favourite aspects of the project, creating a strong base tone with dark charcoal walls that highlight the client’s art by drawing them to the foreground, and then experimenting with brighter colours to add uniqueness and quirkiness to each space. Adding intrigue and depth, the designers also integrated various textures, from timber to stone to glass and high-gloss surfaces, and a Paint technique specialist was brought in to create all the custom textured wall finishes throughout the home.
