Hill House Interiors was excited to have the opportunity to design both the interior and exterior of this three-storey townhouse in the heart of Surrey. The client had wonderful memories of holidays in Ibiza, and as such the brief was to create a stylish, relaxed home with a sophisticated bohemian vibe perfect for entertaining family and friends. Inspired by the client’s beloved crystal collection and her strong interest in natural organic tones, textures and patterns, the palette incorporates soft ivory, pebble and soft indigos. Every wall throughout the home either has a special polished plaster finish or a textured wall covering, creating an indulgent backdrop.

The ground floor comprises a study, complete with bespoke library wall and partners’ desk, a Chanel-inspired powder room and the quintessential “super-room”, a superb 503 sq. ft. living space for relaxing, entertaining, eating and cooking. Hill House Interiors selected a soft taupe herringbone oak floor throughout the entrance hall and living space, working effortlessly with the nature inspired palette of fabrics in soft slate blue, platinum and stormy greys. Enhancing the natural feel of the open plan space, we introduced a large sisal rug in the living area, several indoor trees and plants, and a collection of organic driftwood candle hurricanes. Together with the client’s crystals, positive energy is promoted throughout the entire home. Stylishly tucked into a bay, the dining area has tailored upholstered banquette seating opposite plush dining chairs. The adjoining sitting room has a fabulous bespoke sofa with statement cushions in fabrics mixing subtle patterns in pebble, indigo and storm blue.

Upstairs, the original four-bedroom layout was completely transformed, combining two on the first floor into one huge principal suite with a lavish en-suite bathroom, and the third bedroom repurposed into a Carrie Bradshaw-sized dressing room. In the principal bedroom, the striking nature-inspired metallic pattern wallpaper brings in sumptuous textures. In the dramatic en-suite, the wallpaper is continued, complementing the bespoke double vanity in lacquered black sycamore with Cosmic Black granite and ethically sourced horn handles. The exquisite, soft gold brassware and ambient lighting warm and soften the space further.

This project was particularly enjoyable to work on, as it enabled Hill House Interiors to look at the interior and exterior spaces as one. On entering the property, the eye is immediately drawn through the living space, and beyond the anthracite bi-folding doors that link the inside to the scene-stealing south-facing courtyard garden… staycations have never looked more appealing!
