Sitting on the Mediterranean Beach of the north Coast of Egypt, Alchemy wanted the design of this home to benefit from it’s location as well as it’s inhabitants. With this in mind, they designed Shell House as a harmonious beach house that reflects the host personality thought, layering textures to give depth and gravity to the space and implementing colours, shapes and patterns for a fun summer feel.

It was very important to Alchemy that the personality of the host was reflected in every corner of the home and each element of the design. It’s bright and bold approach to design defines this beach house as both fun and comfortable, where friends and family can come together. The Shell House is a playful, thoughtful, and generous abode. It is a property that embodies the spirit of Summer, and is a place where guests can have fun and enjoy each other’s company as well as it’s North Coast location.

Alchemy took inspiration from the Summer season to design Shell House as a bright, playful and welcoming property. Bold block colours are paired with natural materials for an eyecatching partnership. Playful design emulates the host’s personality, with unconventional shapes being used within the living spaces, and novel design techniques that can be found throughout the home. The layering of different textures gives depth and gravity to the space, whilst still keeping a light and open feel to the interiors. Each design decision has been made to add vibrancy and liveliness to the home, which inevitably alludes to the fun of summer.

The luxury villa has been designed to also consider a fourth dimension of Time. When also putting this into the design, the house captures the essence of the sea by allowing the golden light of the sunset to engage with the property. The natural light throws shadows throughout the day, introducing a dynamic element to the interiors. As the sun rises and sets its light interacts with the textures, angles, and lines of Shell House, and the house and it’s location work together to express the true design potential of the property.
