The Bankenveld project was designed by Signatureroom, with the aim of creating a luxurious family home for a modern family of four residing in the Bankenveld golf estate. Initially, the project brief only required the redesign of the master bedroom; however, after presenting concept visuals, the client was impressed and decided to renovate the entire home.

Located in the Mpumalanga province by the stunning banks of the Witbank dam, the client desired a practical home with a contemporary luxury aesthetic, infused with a touch of modern farm-style living. Upon arriving at the site, Signatureroom discovered a dark and dull interior with a small living area, dining area opposite the kitchen, and a dining wall that was placed in an impractical location due to the limited space for a TV in the living area. The 90s-style bathrooms and kitchen designs further exacerbated the home’s dated look. 

To meet the client’s brief, Signatureroom knew that they needed to create a new shell that could accommodate luxurious finishes and furniture. They hired a wall paint specialist to create a bespoke paint wall treatment with a beautiful concrete silky finish in a soft off-white color combination. The team installed luxurious mother-of-pearl tiles throughout the downstairs area and modern bulkhead ceilings that illuminated warm white straps secretly installed inside the bulkheads.  By swapping the dining and living areas, Signatureroom created an open space that interluded with each other, forming a practical purpose for both areas. They also added two fireplaces, one in the dining area and another in the living area, to accommodate the openness of the new space and give it a warm ambiance in the winter.

The bedrooms and staircase floors were completed in a luxurious light-colored wall nut wood paneling, providing a holistic warm effect to the spaces. The children’s bathroom was tiled in a shimmering, glazed texture light grey porcelain tile, with a beautiful sea-blue book-matched slab serving as a focal point in the shower. The shell was now perfect for the bespoke furniture and accessories, manufactured in different types of textured upholstery fabrics.

Signatureroom’s wall paint technique and color gave the home its definition and allowed them to accommodate all the elements of luxury into the home. The design is timeless and incorporates other design elements tastefully, without being focused on one particular style.
