The brief for Modiarty Design was to design a kitchen, master bedroom, bathroom and hallway for this unloved ex-rental home. The client wanted an elegant but functional design, making everyday life easier for her and her young child. With a busy London lifestyle, she was seeking a serene environment in which to relax and enjoy time with friends and family, away from the stresses of the outside world.

With space at a premium, the design had to incorporate smart storage solutions where everything could be cleared away to avoid the inevitable clutter which comes with young children in a small property. This included a bespoke storage for coats and shoes in the hallway, to ensure a clean, tidy, and welcoming entrance.

For the kitchen, the client required a multifunctional kitchen/dining area to be the heart of the home. As a lover of dark blue, Modiarty Design ensured that this was reflected in the colour palette in the kitchen and throughout, to create a cohesive flow between rooms.

The master bedroom and bathroom were personal spaces where the client would relax and unwind. It was important that these areas provided a calm and cosy environment. As her daughter had her own bathroom, these rooms were designed to be adult spaces with a luxurious touch, whilst retaining their functionality.

Although the design brief was for three distinct areas of the property, Modiarty Design were still able to create a cohesive flow throughout the home, using the hallway to tie the design together. They have reflected a consistent design language through ther choice of colour palette, joinery, furnishings, and accessories.
