The clients, a family of five who moved in during lockdown, wanted to revamp their home’s reception hallway, living room, and garden room to better suit their modern lifestyle while maintaining the property’s original charm. The house is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasting picturesque views of the surrounding countryside.

Tobias Oliver Interiors took on the challenge of creating a design that would leave a lasting impression. The clients sought a departure from the “safe and obvious” style, yearning for a creative and vibrant transformation that would make their home a true showstopper.

The existing garden room, despite its exceptional views and natural light, felt small and outdated. Understanding the family’s desire to spend quality time in this space, the designers completely reimagined the area, making it a focal point for relaxation and entertainment.

While the clients wished to retain some of the property’s original features, such as wood panelling and characterful fireplaces, they wanted a fresh and unexpected look. Tobias Oliver Interiors artfully integrated pops of colour and vibrant textures, creating a countryside feel enhanced by rustic limestone flooring that seamlessly flows through the hallway and garden room.

Each reception area now boasts a distinct aesthetic, yet they harmoniously connect through double doors, creating a beautifully spacious living environment. The smart wood panelling and fireplaces stand in elegant contrast with the added colours and clever lighting, elevating the design to a new level of sophistication.

The result is an interior design that effortlessly blends comfort and style, providing the family with a harmonious space to enjoy together while showcasing the beauty of the surrounding natural landscape.
