Above the coffee table is one of Key Interior and Designs’ signature Murano glass light installations in warm marmalade, crimson, azure and amber tones. This was recently installed into a residential project in London. Inspired by Dale Chihuly, the famous American artist who refined his art in Murano.

Designer, Rani Ahluwalia, loves designing with Murano glass. Its increasing rarity needs to be showcased and celebrated. This piece is instantly recognisable as Chihuly. Its asymmetry and iridescence are dreamlike and happy. Each piece’s rounded edges and undulating form make it appear to float below the ceiling. It’s incredibly organic. With the challenges being experienced by these multi-generational glassmakers of Italy because of the gas crisis, furnace time is limited. Therefore, something of this magnitude and colour is exceptionally precious and increasingly valuable. Murano glass art is something to covet and truly appreciate.

With her designs, Rani’s style is rich in colour and creative thinking. She likes to set her mind free and challenge herself and others to view things differently. She likes to maximise spaces and often starts with lighting, which is always thought provoking and innovative. As with the Rainbow project, the harmonious relationship between form and colour fills the area below with positive energy.
