Poggenpohl, the renowned kitchen design company, has recently completed a remarkable bespoke oak/lacquered shaker kitchen project. The client’s vision was to have a German luxury kitchen with a unique edge, combining luxurious finishes and a prominent marble presence. The goal was to create a stunning space that catered to the needs of the family, the chef, and entertaining, while also meeting specific religious requirements. It had to be a true showstopper.

To achieve this, Poggenpohl meticulously hand-selected marble and incorporated a triple bullnose detail for the surfaces, adding an exquisite touch of elegance. The same detail was seamlessly integrated into a floating shelf, accompanied by a bespoke marble extraction unit. The design team paid careful attention to subtle details, such as the soap reveal in the wall and the incorporation of marble fascia for the hob controls.

The kitchen not only met the client’s aesthetic desires but also fulfilled their Kosher needs, allowing them to comfortably host dinner parties and embrace the space fully. As part of a complete property renovation, Poggenpohl extended the use of marble to other areas of the house, including the fire surround, a sideboard in the hall, and a vanity in the guest bathroom. This cohesive design approach created a sense of harmony throughout the home.

The doors of the kitchen were meticulously hand-finished, showcasing Poggenpohl’s commitment to craftsmanship. The stone surfaces were also hand-finished in specific areas to achieve the bespoke triple bullnose shelves, which were ingeniously supported to create a floating effect. This combination of meticulous attention to detail and skilled craftsmanship resulted in a truly unique and luxurious kitchen space.

The collaboration between Poggenpohl and the client was an enjoyable experience for both parties. The client had previously experienced the exceptional quality of Poggenpohl kitchens with their Segmento Handless matt lacquer kitchen. However, for this project, they desired a bespoke shaker kitchen design. Poggenpohl rose to the challenge and created a kitchen that seamlessly combined the luxury and craftsmanship of the German brand with a traditional hand-finished door design, resulting in a truly exceptional space.
