Designed to be a home away from home for their chic and social clients who like to host events for their friends, Amanda Evans Interiors transformed this 55th-floor apartment into a luxurious yet comfortable space to entertain in. With sweeping views of the entire Lower Mainland, it was important to the designers that they incorporated both the clients’ tastes and ties to the Vancouver location into the design scheme.

Amanda Evans Interiors set out to design a space that was functional but also aesthetically beautiful while not distracting from the incredible views of the North Shore mountains, cityscape and the Pacific Ocean. Once they started the design phase with their clients, it became clear that though the apartment was generally attractive, it needed to be customised to the client. Commissioned paintings by artists Pamela Masik, Bobbie Burgers, and Kristen Giorgi helped influence the design colour scheme in the main living area, with rich blues, soft gold, cream, taupe and dark mocha used throughout the great room. The designers also kept the views of the city in mind while putting together the colour scheme and designing the furniture pieces, considering how to emphasise the surroundings, not distract from them.

The kitchen and living area were reconfigured to create an open space with unobstructed views, and the kitchen was extended to include a custom-designed wet bar. The fashion-focused clients required additional closet space, so Amanda Evans Interiors converted a bedroom into a dressing room featuring custom millwork that was all designed in-house, down to the leather drawer inserts. Most of the furniture throughout the home was custom designed with Once A Tree Furniture to suit the clients’ chic taste and penchant for entertaining; the custom pieces and fixtures, as well as renovated areas, raise the apartment to a higher level of quality and sophistication.
