Trenzseater has recently completed the renovation of the McBreen Residence, a stunning architecturally designed home nestled in a rural setting on the outskirts of Christchurch. With a commitment to complementing the high specification architecture without compromise, Trenzseater took on the challenge of creating a new, different, and exciting interior design scheme that remained practical and liveable for the clients.

The brief for this prestigious project was clear: to deliver an interior that was inspiring, layered with intriguing textures and materials, sophisticated finishes, and personalized details. Trenzseater carefully curated every aspect of the interior design, from window furnishings to lighting, furniture to accessories, ensuring a cohesive and harmonious look throughout the residence.

Natural materials played a prominent role in the design, with timber planked flooring, marble features, and American Oak joinery and furniture adding warmth and character to the space. Seagrass wallpapers were used to line the walls, providing texture and depth while complementing the artwork and mirrors.

Bespoke furniture pieces, upholstered in luxurious fabrics like velvets, wools, and antiqued leather, were designed for each space, complemented by high gloss tables and European rugs. Hand-finished steel pendant lighting added a touch of glamour and sophistication to various areas, creating opportunities for the space to glow with gold leaf interiors.

Trenzseater’s design philosophy revolves around achieving a sophisticated balance of layers that offer interest, detail, and timeless elegance. By collaborating closely with the client and pushing the boundaries of design, they were able to create a space that not only met but exceeded expectations, offering refinement, personality, balance, character, and luxury throughout every corner of the McBreen Residence.
