Charlotte Conway Design has transformed a basement space into a luxurious home cinema that offers an immersive escape for family and friends. The brief called for a darker interior with features for popcorn, pick n mix, and cinema snacks, along with a convenient restroom and an area for the home automation rack. The design aimed to create a space with incredible sound and acoustics.

One of the standout features of this home cinema is the LED lighting, which highlights the texture in the Venetian plaster, adding depth and sophistication to the room. The velvet sofas and silk scatter cushions contribute to the sumptuous feel, making the space both comfortable and luxurious. Different floor levels and staged sofas optimize the viewing experience, while the upholstered panelled screen wall and back wall enhance the sound quality, ensuring an immersive cinematic experience.

The cinema’s navy tones bring warmth, complemented by the textures of the Venetian plaster, velvet sofas, and silk scatter cushions. This combination delivers the ultimate luxurious home cinema ambiance. Bespoke cabinetry provides a contrast to the moody tones, with brass inlays and bronze-tinted mirrors reflecting the sweet treats and refrigerated drinks on offer. This thoughtful design element not only adds functionality but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the space.

Designed to be a distinct and separate world within the home, the cinema is located in the basement, emphasising the idea of escapism. Despite its unique feel, the cinema maintains the same high level of detail and consideration to textures and finishes found throughout the rest of the home.

In the adjacent living space, Charlotte Conway Design continued the same floor finish from the entrance hall, along with black timber skirting. The plaster coving design was also incorporated but reduced in size to fit within the tray ceiling detail. This approach ensured that the living space felt slightly more contemporary compared to the grand entrance hall, yet still imbued with luxurious finishes.

Charlotte Conway Design has successfully created a home cinema that is both a luxurious retreat and a functional space for family entertainment, seamlessly blending comfort, style, and advanced technology.
