Engaged by a client familiar with the brand’s esteemed reputation, Clive Christian Interiors was involved from the planning stage, selecting styles and materials from their Architectural, Metro Deco, and Senate collections. The renovation highlights include extensive wine storage, monogram marquetry, a luxurious games room, and a walnut-panelled cigar room with a mirrored ceiling.

The project, which saw the collaboration of Clive Christian’s team of designers, craftspeople, and installers with local builders, is a testament to the brand’s dedication to fine craftsmanship and bespoke design. The team worked meticulously from concept to completion, ensuring that the result not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations.

The bespoke cabinetry, panelling, and freestanding pieces were installed throughout the home, including the entrance hall, ensuite bedrooms, dressing rooms, lounge, dining hall, cigar room, and games room. Each area features detailing and materials tailored to the home’s style, with custom marquetry adding a personal touch.

The monochrome entrance hall makes a bold statement, honouring the Art Deco period of the house. Black walnut cabinetry with brass fittings and gold inlays, white wall lights, a black and white fireplace, and a marble floor combine to create an impressive entryway. The dining room exudes glamour with a large central marble dining table and grey maple cabinetry with marble interiors. This classic colour scheme and geometric motifs echo the house’s historical period.

In collaboration with Spiral Cellars, Clive Christian Interiors designed bespoke wine cabinets to house the client’s extensive collection. These grey maple cabinets, with marble shelving and brass rails, seamlessly blend with other room units when closed. On the opposite wall, a concealed television, provided by Future Automations, rises from behind an ice machine and wine fridge.

The ‘his and hers’ dressing rooms continue the entrance hall’s monochrome theme. Frosted maple cabinetry (hers) contrasts with black walnut (his), with a central floor-to-ceiling unit featuring a dressing table on one side and an entertainment unit on the other, complete with TV housing and large speakers.

The games room is inviting with a large, low coffee table featuring a marquetry backgammon and chess board. Grey maple panelling, a TV unit, and a dresser with refrigerated wine storage complete the room’s sophisticated look.

A standout feature is the James Bond-inspired Cigar Room. Walnut panelling with brass fittings and gold inlays create an intimate ambiance. A floor-to-ceiling drinks station displays the client’s fine spirits collection and includes wine refrigeration and a central humidor. The room is finished with an antique mirrored ceiling and furnished with Chesterfield sofas and bespoke coffee and side tables sourced by Clive Christian Interiors.
