Interior Designer: Elicyon

Perched in one of London’s most exclusive addresses, the apartment boasts unparalleled views of the south side of Hyde Park. Elicyon’s brief was clear—to create a luminous, airy haven where the client could showcase an extensive collection of contemporary artwork. The design draws inspiration from the Mediterranean, with a palette of bright whites and bleached timbers, evoking a sense of leisure and relaxation.

The living space, stripped back and opened up to encourage conversation and group leisure, serves as a canvas for the client’s curated art collection. Each piece of joinery and furniture is not just functional but also a work of art, seamlessly blending with the client’s collection.

Elicyon paid meticulous attention to the entrance, ensuring a stylish, playful, and impactful first impression that sets the tone for the entire apartment. Zonal divisions were achieved through open shelving, and a dedicated backgammon space was incorporated, catering to the client’s passion.

Retaining existing materials was a priority for the client, and Elicyon worked with specialists to refinish the original flooring, achieving the desired bright, bleached timber effect. One of the guest bedrooms was transformed into a boutique hotel experience, introducing a soft, fun, and colourful atmosphere that contrasts with the monochromatic design found elsewhere.

The success of the design lies in its restrained palette, allowing the client’s artwork to take center stage and emphasizing the forms of furniture and joinery. Elicyon has masterfully created a bright, contemporary space that not only celebrates art but also captures the breathtaking views of Hyde Park.
