Soda Pop Design Inc was tasked with an extraordinary suburban renovation project, aiming to breathe new life into a recently acquired family home. With a focus on maximising space, injecting personality, and integrating functional details, their team embarked on a transformation journey within the existing footprint.

The design philosophy centred on enhancing functionality while reflecting the vibrant personality and lifestyle of the homeowners. Thoughtful millwork layout and attention to existing architectural features, such as skylights, guided their approach. By reconsidering and repositioning the living room fireplace it allowed for better use of the space and connection with adjacent rooms. The front foyer was expanded to accommodate a built-in and walk-in closet, catering to the needs of a busy family of four.

Injecting personality into the home was a key objective. Embracing bold colours, innovative ideas and the integration of repeated elements throughout the home created an environment that authentically expresses the family’s style and preferences.

Functional details represented in a joyful way are a key aspect of our design. From the inclusion of a walk-in pantry to hidden doors leading to the mudroom, practical elements were seamlessly integrated to enhance both functionality and character. The vapor fireplace wall, adorned with custom millwork bookshelves, served as a focal point, bridging the lounge and family spaces in an innovative manner.

Attention to detail was paramount in every aspect of the design. The island countertop with multiple built-up waterfall edges and custom millwork, including a functional pull-out drawer under the induction cooktop, exemplified their commitment to excellence. Advanced tile installation techniques ensured a seamless transition between the backsplash tile and quartz, showcasing Soda Pop’s dedication to craftsmanship.

In summary, Soda Pop Design Inc’s approach to the suburban renovation was a harmonious blend of space optimisation, personality infusion, and functional detailing. Through meticulous design and expert craftsmanship, we created a home that not only supports the family’s daily activities but also brings them joy and reflects their unique identity.
