Clive Christian Interiors has once again demonstrated their expertise in bespoke kitchen design with their latest project in a recently purchased family home. Commissioned to create a contemporary kitchen that also offers ample storage and family-friendly features, Clive Christian Interiors delivered a space that perfectly blends modern aesthetics with practical functionality.

The clients, parents of three young children, sought a kitchen that could serve as the heart of their home, providing space for family activities and meal preparation while also being suitable for entertaining friends. To achieve this, they selected cabinetry from Clive Christian’s Metro Deco Collection, known for its modern yet timeless appeal that harmonizes beautifully with the rest of their new build home.

Central to the kitchen’s design is the striking Metro Deco cabinetry in Black Walnut with steel inlays, which gives the space a sophisticated and cohesive look. The centrepiece of the kitchen is a large island with waterfall edges crafted from Verde Fusion Quartzite. This stunning quartzite, featuring vibrant green flecks, not only captivates the eye but also reflects the client’s favourite colour, which is a recurring theme throughout the home’s interior decor. The island is strategically placed in front of the double door entrance, ensuring that the quartzite makes an immediate impact upon entry.

A breakfast bar at one end of the island provides a relaxed area for the family to enjoy meals together. This bar, made from cantilevered Black Walnut timber, seamlessly integrates with the quartzite, creating an illusion of effortless balance despite its substantial weight.

Storage was a critical component of the design brief. The kitchen includes bespoke cabinets for housing appliances like blenders and juicers, with specialist pull-out lift mechanisms allowing these appliances to remain plugged in and easily accessible. The island also features two sinks: a twin bowl for family use and a smaller food preparation sink conveniently located near a juicer cabinet and an integrated Sub-Zero pull-out refrigerator drawer.

To complement the Black Walnut cabinetry, the exterior side of the island is finished in Frosted Maple, offering a pleasing monochromatic contrast. Additionally, a bi-fold breakfast pantry with LED lighting and custom storage for a toaster, coffee machine, and cereals is positioned next to the dining table for convenience.

Adjacent to the kitchen, Clive Christian Interiors designed a snug area with a large television unit and an integrated Sub-Zero & Wolf wine refrigerator, providing a comfortable open-plan space for relaxation or entertaining guests.
