Design by UBER has completely transformed a longstanding family home in Staffordshire, turning it into a modern masterpiece. After more than 25 years, the farmhouse was in dire need of an update and a dramatic rethink of its layout. The client approached Design by UBER to fully renovate, redesign, and create a showpiece kitchen extension complete with a unique wine cellar.

The original outdated look of the house, centred around a tired family kitchen and a gloomy glass conservatory, no longer reflected the family’s image. Many areas and various small rooms had outgrown their purpose, making the house a poor fit for modern living. A radical rethink of the layout and room purposes was essential.

Design by UBER celebrated the family’s love of cooking by relocating the kitchen to a stunning new extension. This space now features an incredible tailor-made Officine Gullo cooking island range and extractor, handmade in Florence and finished in blue-grey satin with satin nickel brass accents—an epitome of culinary sophistication.

The new layout not only showcases this spectacular kitchen but also integrates a noteworthy walk-in wine cellar. Expertly built by Ateliers Joiners, the wine cellar is situated at the rear of the dining area. Constructed of bronze and glass, it showcases the prime wine selections for dining guests, providing temperature-controlled storage for preferred wines and other display-worthy liquids.

Internally, the home is now balanced, celebrating its original character while repurposing rooms for indulgences like his and her dressing areas. The showpiece wine cellar adds a touch of intrigue with its dark-bronze crittall doors, leather, and lattice work, moodily lit by miniature spots and backlit quartz.

Externally, Design by UBER has restored the farmhouse to beyond its former glory. They have remodeled the exterior, created a stone extension, and reimagined the landscaped gardens. The new exterior grounds feature distinctive local Red Hollington Sandstone, used for all exterior wall surrounds and key positioned boulders within the new rear sloped garden.

Design by UBER’s transformation of this Staffordshire farmhouse showcases their ability to blend modern luxury with traditional character, creating a home that is both functional and aesthetically stunning.
