Arlene McIntyre Design has crafted a residence that combines the refined elegance of a metropolitan townhouse with the spacious ease of a coastal retreat. This 10,000-square-foot family beach house on Ireland’s south coast takes full advantage of its remarkable surroundings, showcasing sweeping ocean views, beach dunes, and lush countryside landscapes from nearly every window.

Central to the design brief was the seamless integration of these natural vistas. Arlene McIntyre Design played a key role in developing both the architectural layout and interior design, shaping a residence centered around a courtyard and featuring a connected pool house with an unobstructed view of the sea. Every aspect was designed with the client’s vision in mind: a home that serves as a sanctuary for relaxation, entertaining, and hosting on a grand scale.

The layout includes expansive dining and lounging areas suited for both formal and informal gatherings, complemented by intimate breakout spaces nestled amid various bedroom configurations. The rooms are meticulously positioned to optimize the breathtaking views, framed by contemporary, floor-to-ceiling windows with sleek, dark frames that extend to a loggia leading to the vaulted pool house.

The clients sought a balance of casual, informal entertaining with an unyielding sense of luxury.
