Fern Anderson Interiors has delivered a modern family sanctuary that effortlessly balances functionality, artistry, and personality. The design of this spacious residence was guided by a clear vision: to create a home that supports both everyday family life and vibrant social gatherings. With a focus on maximising spatial flow and crafting meaningful connections between rooms, Fern Anderson Interiors brought the client’s desire for a joyful, welcoming space to life through expressive materials, custom joinery, and sculptural lighting.

Central to the project was a highly considered layout that makes full use of the home’s generous footprint. Every room was designed to serve a purpose while contributing to the residence’s cohesive atmosphere. The design embraces a bold and colorful palette that brings playfulness and individuality to the home, with an emphasis on comfort and a sense of belonging.

Bespoke joinery plays a key role in unifying the various spaces, with standout elements such as a striking double-height bookcase that links the formal living room with the mezzanine study. This architectural feature reinforces the connection between social and private areas, creating a sense of vertical integration and continuity. Custom cabinetry and storage throughout the home blend function with artistry, celebrating natural materials like lime-washed timber and expressed wood grains.

Lighting design was treated as both a practical and artistic element. Carefully layered architectural and decorative lighting introduces ambient depth and enhances the home’s warmth. Organic-shaped fixtures echo the natural forms of the surrounding Algarve landscape, just minutes from the sea.

With a palette inspired by local stone and vegetation, Fern Anderson Interiors has grounded the home in its natural setting. The result is a refined yet joyful space that harmonises luxury with lived-in comfort, showcasing the studio’s dedication to craftsmanship and thoughtful design.
