Interior Designer: Q Design House

Q Design House has completed the remarkable renovation of a traditional property, masterfully blending classical architectural elements with a contemporary design sensibility. The project was driven by a desire to enhance space and light while maintaining the charm and integrity of the original structure. Q Design House achieved this by combining timeless details such as wall panelling and solid bronze ironmongery with modern furnishings that feature sculptural forms, bold finishes, and clean lines. This juxtaposition of heritage and modernity creates a visually rich and balanced interior that feels both grounded and forward looking.

Throughout the home, Q Design House curated a thoughtful palette of materials, seamlessly integrating natural elements, metals, and specialist finishes to deliver a design that is at once cohesive and dynamic. In the open plan kitchen, a natural limestone floor complements timber joinery and a striking Taj Mahal quartzite countertop, while integrated brass handles add a subtle yet luxurious touch. Adjacent to the kitchen, a bespoke wine display and pantry area features textured panels softly illuminated within bronze glazed screens, enhancing both utility and aesthetic appeal.

The family area continues this layered narrative, with a crackled gesso fireplace finish surrounded by joinery that includes liquid metal, lacquer, timber, and slate. The study exemplifies the studio’s refined approach with its blend of hammered brass, herringbone tweed wallpaper, aniline grained leather, and veined porcelain. A dark grey blue palette envelops the space, reinforcing its cocooning atmosphere.

Q Design House’s meticulous attention to materiality and finish results in interiors that feel deeply personal, tactile, and visually engaging. The design not only respects the home’s traditional roots but elevates it with a contemporary perspective, offering a sophisticated yet comfortable living environment.
