No Ordinary House Interior Design Studio has completed the transformation of an Arts and Crafts family home in North London, delivering a carefully considered redesign centred on nature, connection and modern family living. Working alongside Mulroy Architects, No Ordinary House Interior Design Studio reimagined the entire 4000 square foot property, addressing its previously dark and compartmentalised layout to create a series of generous, flowing spaces.

No Ordinary House Interior Design Studio approached the project with a clear guiding principle, strengthening the relationship between the home’s interior, the garden and the natural environment. This idea informed every design decision, from large scale spatial interventions to the selection of materials and finishes. At ground level, polished concrete extends seamlessly from the interior into the garden, dissolving the boundary between inside and out, while warm timber elements throughout the home introduce texture and reinforce the Arts and Crafts heritage of the building.

A defining feature of the project is the internal courtyard, introduced as part of the architectural redesign. No Ordinary House Interior Design Studio transformed this space into a living wall, ensuring that even the basement level remains connected to light, greenery and the changing seasons. Five rooms and a central hallway overlook this evolving feature, creating a shared visual link to nature across different areas of the home.

The basement itself has been conceived as a dynamic social environment, incorporating a gym, bar, cinema space and music area, while remaining adaptable for future use. Throughout the house, No Ordinary House Interior Design Studio integrated the clients’ existing furniture and art collection, ensuring the interiors feel personal and lived in.

The result is a cohesive and highly liveable home where natural materials, open planning and a consistent design vision combine to support contemporary family life.
