Elicyon has unveiled a refined yet playful Chelsea pied à terre within the prestigious Chelsea Barracks development, designed for an American couple seeking a characterful home after downsizing. Throughout the project, Elicyon maintained a careful balance between sophistication, individuality and functionality, creating an interior that supports both relaxed day to day living and intimate entertaining.

Elicyon approached the design with a focus on intelligent spatial planning, ensuring every inch of the apartment was considered. A key priority was the integration of bespoke storage solutions capable of accommodating an extensive wardrobe and personal collections without compromising the architectural integrity of the base build. Discreet interventions were introduced throughout, enhancing usability while maintaining flexibility for potential future resale.

Central to the scheme is Elicyon’s reimagining of existing joinery. Standard elements were elevated through inset wallpaper panels, refined detailing and bold lacquer finishes, transforming them into distinctive design features. Spaces were also adapted to meet evolving needs, with bedrooms converted into a study and television den, and even a bathtub reconfigured into a bespoke joinery unit.

A defining moment within the apartment is the carefully designed nook, where Elicyon created tailored shelving and integrated storage that responds directly to the clients’ collections. This area exemplifies the studio’s approach, where practicality and personal expression are seamlessly combined.

The project demanded a high level of craftsmanship across multiple disciplines, with specialist joinery playing a central role. Concealed storage, integrated seating and movable furniture elements contribute to a flexible and highly tailored environment.

The result is a contemporary urban retreat that feels both expressive and composed, with Elicyon delivering a home that celebrates utility as much as beauty through thoughtful and inventive design.
