Elie Jones Interiors has completed a striking transformation of a five bedroom early 20th century family home in Surrey, overlooking the sweeping views of Epsom Downs. The young family who purchased the property were keen to create a home that reflected the character of its Edwardian era, as the original building lacked any distinctive architectural detail. Elie Jones Interiors led a full renovation that introduced timeless features while ensuring the house felt personal, functional, and attuned to the needs of modern family life.

Working closely with the clients’ builder, Elie Jones Interiors reintroduced period detailing including wall panelling, cornicing, and decorative mouldings, adding depth and elegance to the interiors. The project involved a complete reconfiguration of living spaces, bedrooms, and bathrooms, alongside the creation of bespoke joinery and layered lighting schemes. Even practical areas, such as the small utility room and garage, were transformed into a generous utility space that functions as the engine room of the home, designed to be stylish yet durable enough for daily family demands.

A recurring theme throughout the design is the client’s love of the colour blue, which culminated in the creation of a standout living room. This space features a bespoke curved whisky bar that epitomises the project’s balance of sophistication and comfort. The design draws on rich textures, natural materials such as oak and marble, and expansive window treatments that frame the surrounding countryside. The result is a space that feels both like a retreat and a hub for entertaining, cocooned by deep blue tones and atmospheric lighting.

The transformation has gone far beyond aesthetic refinement, creating a home that has redefined how the family lives. Elie Jones Interiors has delivered a project that feels timeless, personal, and deeply connected to its setting.
