Interior Designer: Dream Design

Dream Design has completed the transformation of two separate clifftop apartments at Friars Cliff in Dorset, creating a single cohesive coastal residence that maximises natural light, sea views and contemporary living.

Appointed to deliver the full interior architecture and design scheme, Dream Design oversaw every aspect of the project, including spatial planning, kitchen design, bedroom and bathroom design, material specification, furniture selection and detailing. The challenge was to combine two off plan apartments into one seamless home that felt as though it had always been conceived as a single residence.

A central element of the redesign was the reconfiguration of the kitchen, dining and lounge spaces. Dream Design removed the dividing wall between the kitchen and living areas, creating a bright dual aspect environment that allows light to travel throughout the apartment while strengthening the connection to the surrounding coastline. The resulting open plan space now serves as the heart of the home, with clearly defined zones that remain visually connected.

Throughout the residence, Dream Design employed a carefully curated palette inspired by the coastal setting. Whitewashed ash effect porcelain flooring runs continuously through the apartment, complemented by matching internal doors and staircase finishes. This consistency creates a strong sense of continuity while enhancing the calm and relaxed atmosphere of the interior.

The kitchen showcases Dream Design’s attention to detail, featuring SieMatic cabinetry in a distinctive Hamptons blue finish. Marble effect porcelain cladding, light grey stone effect porcelain surfaces and crisp architectural detailing combine to create a refined yet relaxed aesthetic that reflects the property’s seaside location.

Another standout feature is the principal bedroom, where Dream Design introduced a concealed wardrobe and ensuite hidden behind a fluted bronze and mirrored wall. This elegant solution delivers a sense of luxury while preserving the room’s uncluttered appearance.
