B Interior undertook a complete gut renovation to transform a dated Sag Harbor property into a modern, light-filled Hamptons retreat. Designed for a New York–based family seeking a serene weekend and summer escape, the home reflects B Interior’s signature balance of sophistication, comfort, and connection to nature.

The design reimagined the existing structure to align with a contemporary coastal lifestyle. Clean architectural lines were softened through natural textures and organic materials, creating a space that feels refined yet welcoming. A neutral palette of whites, sands, and taupes is complemented by subtle coastal tones that echo the calm and brightness of the surrounding landscape.

Removing the original central staircase opened sightlines to a double-height living room, anchored by a dramatic oversized fireplace. This intervention transformed the spatial flow, bringing a sense of openness and grandeur while maintaining warmth and intimacy. Expansive glazing and sliding doors dissolve boundaries between indoors and outdoors, framing views of the pool and gardens and enhancing the connection to the coastal setting.

Every element, from custom millwork to layered finishes, was carefully considered to enhance comfort, functionality, and timeless appeal. Natural materials such as stone, wood, linen, and plaster reflect the tones and textures of the Hamptons coast, grounding the architecture in its environment.

The result is a home that feels both architecturally striking and emotionally comforting. Through its simplicity, proportion, and light, B Interior created a timeless retreat that embodies relaxed sophistication and effortless coastal living.
