Dalit Geffen reimagines a Tel Aviv apartment as a calm, materially rich home shaped by light, nature and lived experience. Conceived as an urban dream home, the project responds to the client’s deep affinity with the sea and with natural, tactile materials, creating a serene setting for a new chapter of life.

The apartment’s elongated plan became the organising framework for a continuous spatial journey, linking the western living areas to the eastern master suite through rhythm, material continuity and carefully controlled daylight. Light was treated as a primary architectural material rather than a decorative feature. Clerestory openings with textured glass and oak frames line the upper corridor walls, allowing daylight to filter between rooms and softly illuminate areas without direct exposure. This language extends seamlessly into storage and service fronts, reinforcing a quiet sense of cohesion.

A light oak veneer wraps the apartment, from kitchen cabinetry and concealed doors to circulation spaces, establishing warmth, continuity and calm. Ceiling heights were set at 2.80 metres to maintain a human, intimate scale. Material expression is restrained yet expressive, with a sculptural natural stone kitchen island, a pebble stone wall in the corridor and guest restroom referencing the shoreline, and Travertine Rosso in the master bathroom adding depth and subtle vibrancy. Flooring transitions from sand like natural stone in public areas to warm oak parquet in private spaces.

Walls and ceilings are finished in warm Benjamin Moore tones, replacing stark white with an enveloping softness. Integrated lighting, bespoke furniture, works by local artists and generous terraces blur the boundary between interior and exterior, city and retreat. The project reflects Dalit Geffen’s belief that true luxury lies in restraint, craftsmanship, material honesty and spaces that quietly support everyday life.
