Built in the 17th century, Country Mansion is a large countryside house that Casa Forma have converted into a modern family home. The extensions in the early 20th century and more recently have helped to create a truly functional family home set in one of the most desirable locations in Surrey surrounded by acres of lush green gardens. Casa Forma designed the interiors to reflect its stunning English countryside surroundings drawing on nature as the source of inspiration, this is apparent in the colour theme used throughout the house and each individually designed room. Furniture and fabrics were all custom designed and selected to meet the countryside theme and at the clients request a mix of traditional carved English furniture and signature Casa Forma joinery is used throughout.

The panelled drawing room is served by a decoratively carved stone surround and modern glazed fireplace. Furniture is upholstered with traditional dogtooth fabrics and deep forest green distressed leathers punctuated with accents of French brass studding and dressed with leopard print cushions. The curtains are made up of double faced cashmere paisley which frame the traditional lead windows looking out to the gardens. Casa Forma integrated a bar that serves both the drawing and adjacent dining room. The bar with its black granite top, solid oak wood and antique bronze mirror gives a sense of focus to the room whilst at the same time allowing the client to display his personal collection of fine crystal cut glassware.

The dining room is similarly panelled and displays carefully selected art with hand painted florals and English animals framed in platinum leaf. Grand dining chairs with tartan wool fabric sit around a 4-meter-long mahogany table with brass accents. Both rooms have French doors leading to the wide York stone terrace running along the entire southern elevation of the house. The terrace is also accessed via the tri-fold door in the sitting room and French doors in the masculine study.

The seemingly minimalist kitchen by Bulthaup utilises soft touch drawers and cupboards as well as a roller shutter shelf cover, to ensure the well served and generous space can work as an entertaining hub to the house. Casa Forma built a solid oak kitchen bar unit which wraps over and around the marble toped island. It houses 3 bespoke bar stools, so the client can keep an eye on her small children whilst cooking.

On the first floor the spacious and incredibly well-appointed principal master bedroom suite has a bespoke solid oak dressing room and immense bath and shower room in addition to the charming bedroom which enjoys an attractive brick fireplace with wood burning stove. Bespoke furniture is upholstered in warm earthy tones and accents of blue which bring a calming sense in the room. A classic English writing desk was designed in swirl mahogany wood, saddle stitched brown leather top with gold leaf embossed tooling around the perimeter, it fits seamlessly into the bay window overlooking the orchard below.

Other rooms on the first floor include a spacious guest room with exposed beams and two children’s bedrooms. Each child had a different theme, the second floor is a beautifully appointed country style boy’s bedroom boasting plaid panelled walls which accentuates the masculine country theme.
