Interior Designer: Duet Design Group

This project began with one rug, a crib, and an art collection. Duet Design Group had the privilege of selecting every furnishing and finish from that point forward. Nestled in the heart of Cherry Hills Village is this beautifully understated and uniquely curated modern custom home. Duet Design Group were hired by the client to work hand in hand with a Kansas City based architect to ensure that each space had its own personality while being completely liveable for their young growing family.

While the exterior and interior fixed finishes of the home are all very organic and beautifully understated, the furnishings needed to be comfy, beautiful and most importantly eclectically paired from room to room. Using a very subtle and textural colour palette, Duet Design Group were able to get all the natural finishes to play off one another giving this home textural organic movement and set the stage to complement the eclectic furnishings.

The designers overall neutral colour palette gave them an opportunity to include pops of colour to visually anchor and enhance each space playing on the eclectic aesthetic that the client desired. Duet Design Group specifically incorporated collected and exquisite pieces into each space making sure that the clients functional needs were met while implementing a once in a lifetime design.

There is not much that Duet Design Group don’t adore about this home, but the office space stands out as a particular highlight for the designers. The ability to use multiple wood finishes, fabrics and lighting to create different functions, while cohesively showcasing this room, was a true designers challenge.

The design works well because the client trusted the design team to take their vision and turn it into a reality. This trust allowed Duet Design Group to incorporate unique design elements that allowed the creative vision to take place and in some of these spaces became the “cherry on top”.
