The Edgewood Creek Residence sits on two sloped lots combined to create a family legacy home. At 685 sq meters, this ski-in ski-out Colorado home embraces the mountain traditions of the family who reside here.  With driveway access through the first lot, KA DesignWorks treaded lightly to preserve the creeks and ponds, situating much of the house adjacent to the ski slopes. The garage and entry are separated by a bridge element that spans the creek and waterfall, connecting to the majority of the house. With traditional forms and detailing, such as the reclaimed timber trusses, the home is a homage to mountain traditional with a balance of clean contemporary design.

Across the bridge, one enters the formal living and dining rooms with expansive glass, inviting the sound of falling water into the spaces.  Off of the panoramic views to the north is a large covered deck that includes multiple seating areas, fireplace, and outdoor kitchen. The master suite beyond is separated from the living areas by an office that shares the incredible mountain views, as well as a private guest suite.  The master embraces the grandeur of the living spaces with similar truss detailing and volume, albeit on a more appropriate scale.  With a large walk through closet and dressing area open to a gorgeous, yet simple master bath, this space breathes relaxation.

The lower walk out basement level is entered down the grand staircase that opens into another family/ media room. Also accessed off the lower family room is an oversized combination ski room with laundry. Built in cubbies with ample storage, boot warmers and multiple washers and dryers make this the ideal space to start or finish any ski day.  Off the ski room is a ski-in/ ski-out entrance that opens to an expansive lower level stone patio. With a recessed hot tub, multiple levels, generous seating areas, and a gas fire-pit below the bridge, this lower level patio also serves to connect 3 lower guest bedrooms, providing walk out access from each.  This patio undulates in an out of the more natural landscape, embracing the creeks and ponds naturally found on the site, creating a landscaped oasis amongst the ski slopes.

With “single level living” for the primary occupants, and ample area on the lower walk-out level for family and guests to spread out, this home is ideal for a multi-generation mountain getaway.
