Interior Designer: LIQUID DESIGN SOLUTIONS

Villa Zolyno is located in Lithuania, positioned near the Swiss forest in Vilnius city regional park. The aim for Liquid Design Solutions was to remodel the space and functionality of the property and create a balance between straight and curved lines. The house was developed 25 years ago when Lithuania became an independent country. The architectural project initially has been ordered by the Polish embassy, but finally realised by its German owner. After he died this old heritage villa was overtaken by his son and redesigned.

The goal was to increase the property value and create a contemporary modern look throughout the 500 square metre residence. The living room and the foyer, with their particularly high ceilings, represent the heart of this interior design project. The impressive featured TV wall in the living area is embraced by the symmetrically built bookshelf which features glass doors. For a striking change of mood, yellow and violet in the lounge appears distinct, surprising and beautiful. Integrated lighting on the ceilings and walls was one of the main mood-shaping elements used in the design scheme, these lighting solutions create the prefect ambience in the evening.

The staircase to the second floor was a new structural addition, it’s sculptural look and special detailing add to the scale of the living areas. Natural, white and bright materials were used for the finishing of the floor to keep the space light, whilst the stairs were covered with natural black limestone and contrasting shiny tiles. The master bedroom and bathroom colours were kept neutral in colour scheme to ensure a balanced scheme through the entire house. The kitchen cabinetry and all built in furniture was made by Lithuanian craftsmen and was custom made for this property.

The redesign by Liquid Design Solutions has made a huge difference to the overall feeling of this space. The living areas flow easily into one another, and the scale of the high ceilings add to the grandeur of Villa Zolyno. The panoramic windows that open up to the scenic view makes the design of the villa truly exclusive.
