Project Name: Notting Hill Townhouse

Location: London, United Kingdom

Date Completed: August 2020

Interior Designer: Katharine Pooley

In just under 6 months Katharine Pooley and her team of talented architects and designers undertook a total redesign of this incredible statement seven storey London home. The property includes a swimming pool and spa, a home cinema, games room and bar, a car lift for the client’s luxury car collection and extensive gardens and terraces.

This beautiful white stucco fronted period property has been transformed into an incredible statement home for a young International couple with an incredible art Collection. The client wished to ensure every detail of this property was impeccable, original and of the highest quality. With gallery quality furniture and lighting from Paris, London and New York, statement artwork and beautifully finished English made joinery and the finest architectural detailing in every room the brief was to create an impressive and glamorous home to entertain that also had calm and peaceful spaces for relaxation. The client has an appreciation of rare finishes, pure colourations, and cutting-edge design so every detail was designed bespoke for the property.

The swimming pool and spa area are particularly impressive with beautiful hanging ‘diving figure’ sculptures and a living wall, while the main entrance hall and drawing room are a beautiful balance of cool contemporary glamour and traditional classical period detailing.

A huge team of English artisans and creatives helped to turn around this incredible property in such a short space of time. From the poured metal ‘Based Upon’ doors to the exquisite Dark stained timber and bronze joinery in the masculine library study, every detail has passed through the hands of England’s master craftsmen and women.

The design works so well because It is light and fresh with touches of strong colour, every detail is considered but the statement artwork and sculptural chandeliers are allowed room to breathe and draw the eye beautifully in every space. The large Listed rooms look out onto leafy gardens and the elegant Notting Hill street beyond. Like Notting Hill, the interior has a youthful feel that is international and very chic in tone.
