Iriv Design Limited recently completed the comprehensive renovation and rear extension of a four-bedroom house situated in the London Borough of Richmond. Despite facing a modest budget of £400,000 for the extension, Iriv Design Limited set out to enhance the property, creating a more comfortable and functional space. The project included refreshing the first and second floors and making minor interior remodelling adjustments to accommodate an additional bedroom and bathroom, all while maintaining the appearance of a high-end property with traditional inspirations.

A key focus of the project was the transformation of the ground floor space, particularly the kitchen and dining area. The existing layout was dark and enclosed, prompting the need for significant improvement. The design team’s primary objective was to create an open-plan area with an American-style design, seamlessly integrating a sophisticated open plan kitchen with a stylish breakfast bar, a spacious dining room, and a generously sized and well-lit living room. By reimagining and reconfiguring the floor plan, the project breathed new life into the ground floor space, enhancing its functionality, aesthetics, and overall liveability.

One standout aspect of the project was the successful demonstration of value engineering principles. The design team expertly selected and incorporated cost-effective materials, fixtures, and finishes while still achieving a luxurious and upscale aesthetic. This showcased how a high-end interior can be achieved without relying exclusively on the most expensive products.

The project also involved extensions and renovations to increase the property’s square footage, adding an extra bathroom and bedroom on the first floor. The design team utilized intelligent spatial planning to optimize the existing footprint and seamlessly integrate the additional bedroom and bathroom into the floor plan.

The result of the project is a space that perfectly balances contemporary aesthetics with the character and charm of Richmond. The renovated space exudes a sense of cleanliness and sophistication, creating a fresh and modern ambiance that aligns with the client’s budget.
