Laura Lygren Interiors undertook the task of transforming a triplex and terrace apartment in the picturesque Swiss Alps into a remarkable family residence, adhering to the concept of a contemporary ‘chalet lite’ style. The objective was to fashion a living space that could function independently or merge seamlessly to create a spacious abode. Steering away from the conventional use of copious animal skins and wooden walls, the client aspired to establish a modern, inviting atmosphere for their mountain retreat, employing wool and natural cozy fabrics as the primary elements.

To achieve this vision, Laura Lygren Interiors artfully combined elements such as old wood cabinetry, burnished metals, and plush wools, harmoniously blending them into the surrounding mountainous landscape of Verbier. The incorporation of these carefully chosen materials served to establish a sense of tranquility and harmony within the interior spaces, while paying homage to the locale’s rich natural beauty.

In pursuit of creating unique and personalized features, Laura Lygren Interiors collaborated closely with local cabinet makers to construct bespoke bar cabinets and desks. By engaging the expertise of these skilled artisans, the design firm ensured that every detail was meticulously crafted to meet the exact specifications and design intent. This collaboration not only accentuated the authenticity of the residence but also fostered a connection with the local community, reinforcing the sense of place and cultural appreciation.

Through Laura Lygren Interiors’ impeccable design choices and thoughtful execution, the duplex and terrace apartment were seamlessly transformed into a contemporary mountain oasis. The resulting interior spaces successfully manifested the desired ‘chalet life’ ambiance, providing the client with a modern and comfortable family home amidst the breath-taking Swiss Alps.
