Interior Design: Harrods Interior Design

Harrods Interior Design has completed a stunning interior design project that features a beautifully balanced blend of colours, textures, and materials. The team was tasked with redesigning a family home, and they drew inspiration from the property’s architecture to create a scheme that celebrates its features.

Throughout the home, the designers used a calming neutral palette as a backdrop, which they injected with bold splashes of colour to create a luxurious yet understated feel. Bespoke designs were introduced in the form of rugs, which added texture and detail to each room.

Marble was used liberally throughout the property, integrated into furniture such as coffee tables and side tables. Wood finishes were also added to add an opulent touch to pieces, including consoles, creating multiple focal points in every room.

Lighting played a significant role in the overall design, adding depth, height, and interest. Whimsical and contemporary light fixtures and chandeliers were mixed to create an eye-catching yet cohesive look.

In the dining room, a stunning dining table concealed behind panelling adds theatre and anticipation around mealtimes. Shiny lacquered finishes reflect light around the room, while the leather stitching on the back of the chairs provides a sophisticated touch.

The bedrooms are a blend of comfort and luxury, with layered finishes on the master bed’s headboard introducing subtle yet striking colours while retaining a calm feel.

Outside, the designers ensured that the outdoor space perfectly chimed with the interior scheme by using similar colours and finishes on outdoor furniture. The dark wood used in the formal living space was also reflected in the outdoor space.

To soften the prominent architectural lines of the period property, the team introduced organic shapes with curved sofas and armchairs, and round coffee tables. They also took care to select furniture that was in proportion to the large rooms and high ceilings, creating a warm and harmonious feel.
